Obituary of Joseph Kevin Foster

Joseph Kevin Foster, age 68, of Bloomington, MN passed away September 16, 2022, at St. Louis Park Methodist Hospital after a long illness. Joseph (“Joe”) was born in South Bend, IN; he was educated in the Diocese of Des Moines Parochial Schools, and Des Moines Public School systems. He studied photography at Des Moines Area Community College and Drake University.

Joe enjoyed living in the Minneapolis area for more than 40 years. An avid Vikings fan, he also spent many hours fishing, reading, and listening to music. He was a gifted photographer. Joe was a devoted father and grandfather-- his proudest moments include walking his daughter down the aisle, and dancing at her wedding.

Joe is preceded in death by parents, Constance Foster, and David Scruggs. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Phillip) Price; grandchildren, Kaia and Wyatt; sister, Danielle Foster-Smith; uncles, Leonard Foster and Lionel Foster; aunt, Frankie Briscoe, nephew, Travis Wells; numerous cousins, and good friends.

Joseph’s family thanks the doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care for him over the years, and especially in the most recent weeks. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
