Obituary of Nancy Lee Boody
Nancy Lee "Nan" Boody died peacefully in her sleep on September 15th, 2022. She was born in Minneapolis on October 8, 1938. Her family moved to White Bear Lake when she was a young child so she could be near the water. She lived there until her marriage. After finishing High School she gave up her original intention to become a doctor to raise a family. Years later she returned to school to become a Certified Nurses Assistant who was trusted to do the work of a Registered Nurse. She had Type 1 diabetes for over 74 years.
Nan was known by all for her warm acceptance of everyone and her winning smile. She had a wonderful sense of humor, often “putting people on” by pretending not to understand. She was bright, vivacious, and endearing. She made friends easily and kept them by her supportive nature. It could be accurately said that she had no enemies.
Nan was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Dorothy Hayden. She is survived by her husband Charles (Chuck) Boody, daughters Sandi (Terry Maly) Boody and Tami (Eric) Snaza, granddaughters Michelle Caneff and Amy Snaza, great granddaughters Mikayla and Raya Caneff, brothers Thomas (Diane) Hayden and Jeffery (Beverly) Hayden, brother-in-law George (Anne Risch) Boody, sister-in-law Wendy Kurka, extended family and many dear friends.
Interment will be for family at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights at 10 A.M. October 8, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday October 8 at Prospect Park United Methodist Church, 22 Orlin Avenue, Minneapolis MN. All are invited. Bring your favorite Nan story!
