Obituary of Paul Galen Brown

Paul Galen Brown, 68, of Duluth, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Essentia Health surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 1, 1949 to Dewey and Dorothy (Kschnitzky) Brown. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. After the service he moved to Duluth to work. Paul met and married Mary Evelyn Royer on August 5, 1972. He retired from St. Luke's Hospital in 2009. Paul had a love for country music, football, playing bingo and his dog Frankie. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Larry Copeland and sister Vera Ice. Paul is survived by his wife Mary; daughters, Melissa (Kevin McDonald) Brown, Holly (Jeff Keith) Brown; sisters, Joyce Odden, Terresa (Dan) Casias; brother Bill Copeland; brothers-in-law, Larry (Barbara) Royer, David (Beth) Royer and Doug (Teresa) Royer; many nieces, nephews, friends and loving dog Frankie. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Essentia Health. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church 715 N. 57th Ave W., Duluth, MN.
