Obituary of Doris Elaine Hanson

Doris “Dori” Elaine Hanson, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 11, 2022. She was born on July 21, 1938, to Reuben and Myrtle Moen.

She grew up in Munger, Minnesota, and was a 1957 graduate of Proctor High School. She married her high school sweetheart Jackie Thomas Hanson on May 31, 1958, and they shared 45 years together. My mom loved and lived for her family and was a homemaker most of her life. She was gifted with the ability to garden, can, cook, bake, sew, and embroider. She did work part-time for Nopeming Nursing Home as dietary aide and part-time for the Proctor School District. She was a long-time member of Augustana Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School there for many years and really enjoyed working with the ladies in the kitchen.  

Preceded in death by her husband Jackie Thomas Hanson, son Guy Allen Hanson, parents Myrtle and Reuben Moen, brother Bobby Moen, sisters Laurie (Bob) Higby and Betty (Darrell) Oman and many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Survived by sons Wendell Hanson and Tom (Danise) Hanson, and daughter Debbie (Tom) Stegall. Grandchildren Matthew Monnette, Cole Hanson, Dani (Jason) Vinge, John Stegall, Abby Stegall, Hannah Stegall, and Samantha Hanson, many nieces and nephews (whom she loved as well) and great nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, September 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Duluth Bible Church with a visitation one hour prior.
