Obituary of Paul Scott Voeltz
Paul Scott Voeltz II, age 32 born on October 22, 1989 in Duluth MN went to heaven on August 20, 2022 after losing his battle with addiction. He had been sober for three years and weaned off Suboxone, but sadly relapsed and lost his life to an accidental heroin overdose. Paul had a kind heart and a gentle soul.
Paul was in the Minnesota Army National Guard for 6 years as a 31B Military Policeman (2006-2012). He worked many different positions as a cook throughout his life and was most recently working at Mr. D’s Bar & Grill. He enjoyed the fast pace of cooking. He also held jobs over the years in telecommunications, manufacturing of electronics and caregiving. Paul enjoyed spending time with his dog Breezer, taking her for walks daily. He enjoyed kayaking, fishing and his truck. His life changed forever when he became a father to his beautiful daughter and the light of his life, Sophie. He loved her more than life itself.
Paul is survived by the love of his life, his daughter Sophie Voeltz-Cadeau, his mother Debra Voeltz, father Paul Voeltz, sister Christina Frost (Mitchell) and a nephew & niece. Paul was a good friend to many and held onto friendships from early in his childhood through adulthood. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday September 8, 2022 at the Gary New Duluth (GND) Rec Center located at 801 101st Ave. W, Duluth, MN from 2pm-5pm. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for donations for Paul’s daughter; https://gofund.me/46c093c5.
