Obituary of Jean Delores Boren

Jean D. (Petersen) Boren of Bloomington, MN, died peacefully at home on August 22, 2022, at age 103.

She was born in Grundy Center, IA. After graduation she taught school before marrying Gerald E. "Bud" Boren of Waterloo, IA. The couple lived in California and Nebraska before transferring to Des Moines, IA,  where they had two daughters and eventually moved to an acreage in Johnston, IA. 

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she assisted her husband in growing a huge garden and wonderful sweet corn. In later years, she enjoyed working as a personal shopper at Younkers Department Store.

Mom gave us life, lessons, love and the importance of faith and we will miss her every day. Preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald of 42 years, brothers Gordon and  Wilbur Petersen,  and sister Henrietta Haren. She is survived by daughters Cheryl Clark of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Jacque Boren of Bloomington, MN, brother Ronald (Aurora) Petersen of Granbury,TX, and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of Jean's life will be held at a later date. Memorials to Heartland Hospice in White Bear Lake, MN, who provided loving care and support to Jean and her family.
