Obituary of Mona Johnson-Cheslak

Mona Johnson-Cheslak age 70, Passed away peacefully August 22, 2022 surrounded by family and close friends.

Mona was born February, 20 1952 in Duluth to Dorthy and Harvey Johnson. As a hearing daughter to deaf parents, she was always a vital support to her family. Mona was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Imo (Aunt in Korean) and a loving wife to her husband William. Her greatest joy was her family.

Mona retired from Cooper enterprises after 30+ years as a Secretary/treasurer, followed by a part time position at Temple Israel (which she enjoyed thoroughly) for 10 years as a bookkeeper. She was actively involved in the East Hillside community club and the Grant rec center as well as volunteering for several other local organizations.

Mona is survived by her husband Bill of 37 years, son Scott (Rachel) Toomes, daughter Jessica (Jay) Johnson, niece Vicky (Todd) Baker, 5 grandchildren, Iona, Kemon, Balam, Tashi, Amari, 1 great grandson Kassius & 7 great nieces and nephews, Vance, Langston, Gianna, Sirach, Miriam, Reggie and Solanus.
