Marion V. Olson

Marion Virginia Olson (“Snookie”) age 96 of Blaine, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2022. Preceded in death by parents, spouse, Howard; son, Ronald; brothers Anton Wing, George Wing, Henry Wing, Alfred Wing (I), Alfred Wing (II), Robert Wing; and sisters Dorothy (Sister) Wing, Bertha (Babe) Marth, & Eleanor (Dolly) Horton.

Survived by children: Gerald (LaMoine); Linda Johnson; Karen (Jeff) Stoltz; Douglas (Laurie); 13 grandchildren: Jenny (Olson) Tressler; Nathan Olson; Angela Rehder; Christina Manderfeld; Daniel (Holly) Johnson; Andrew (Karah) Johnson; Laura (Scott Heineman); Thomas (Jennifer) Stoltz; Michael Stoltz; Selena (Wyatt) Neubauer; Alicia (Jared) Essen; Alexis (Robert) Schleider; Zandra (Tyler) Elliott; 27 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was born on March 3, 1926 to Sigurd and Anna (Hanson) Wing, the 7th child out of 10. She grew up in South Minneapolis, married Howard Olson on February 10, 1945, had 5 children, and eventually moved out to Coon Rapids in 1963 to raise their children in the ‘country’.

Marion enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, putting jigsaw puzzles together, going to the casino, playing cards, watching her grandkids’ sporting events, traveling to many places around the world, and spending free-time at the Coon Rapids Senior Center, where she helped to serve lunches or doing other things wherever she was able to help out.

Marion was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Marion will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 4th Ave S., Anoka, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

Private burial at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.
