Obituary of Alex Joaquin Bullock
Bullock, Alex Joaquin passed away peacefully at the young age of 77 due to complications of Alzheimer’s. He was born and raised in Brooklyn Center and graduated from Brooklyn Center High School in 1963. One of his first jobs out of school was at North Memorial Hospital as an orderly. He met the love of his life, Shirley Ann Purvis, after a minor car accident brought the two together. They married in March 1967. They had two daughters that were the light of their lives! Later in life, he found his passion in the car industry and enjoyed many years working in that field.
Alex was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 53 years, Shirley Ann Bullock, his parents Grace and Donald Thompson, and his birth father Alex Bullock Jr., who died in World War II six days after he was born. He is survived by his two daughters who loved him fiercely, Jennifer (Travis) Annette, and Jessica Bullock; his grandchildren whom he loved wholeheartedly, William Annette, Katelyn Annette, and Alexandra Bullock; his sister Geri (Roger) Johnson, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members in North Carolina and many lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life for both Al and Shirley will be held at Cross Winds United Methodist Church on August 27 at 10am. There will be a service starting at 10:30am. After, please join us for light refreshments and time for sharing memories of Al and Shirley.
