Obituary of Irene Horsmann Minear

Irene Horsmann Minear, age 94, of Annandale, formerly of Andover and Coon Rapids, passed away on July 28, 2022 at the Annandale Memory Care Center after a 10-year battle with dementia. She is finally at peace in the arms of her Savior.

Irene was born in Dresser, WI on February 4, 1928 to Fred and Lulu (Overman) Horsmann and baptized on March 20, 1938. She was the fourth of seven children. After graduating from Osceola, WI high school she moved to Minneapolis where she attended the Minneapolis Business College. This is where she met the love of her life, DeLisle Minear. Irene and DeLisle were married on August 7, 1948. They made their home in Coon Rapids and were married for 66 years until DeLisle’s passing in 2015.

Irene devoted her life to being a full-time homemaker and raising her 5 children. She could always be heard cheering them on at their various sporting events. She loved to read and enjoyed square dancing and singing in the church choir.

Irene is survived by her children Lynette Minear of Yuma, AZ, Peter (Dorothy) of Annandale, MN, Jan Wennberg (Gary) of Blaine, MN, Paul (Alicia) of Ramsey, MN, one brother, Edward Horsmann, 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, DeLisle, a son, David, brothers Don, Gordon (Bud), Kenny, Fred Jr. and one sister Loraine (Lolly).

A graveside service for the immediate family will be held at Joyce Chapel Cemetery in Coon Rapids.
