Obituary of Kathrine Jeanette Clements

Age 85, passed away peacefully December 10, 2017. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Devoted Catholic, social justice champion, lover of arts and literature, master seamstress, advocate of lifelong learning. Jeanette was born on the east side of St Paul and lived her whole life in that city. She attended Harding High School, met and married Joseph Clements, and together they raised 6 children. She attended the University of St. Thomas along with her oldest son, earned her bachelor’s degree, and passed on her love of literature as a teacher. All the while she and Joe were active in the Church and were Oblates of the Order of St Benedict. She will be missed by her husband Joe and their children Benedict (Lori) Clements, Mary (John) Michaels, Elizabeth (Paul) Sievert, Anastasia (Thomas) Eldredge, Joseph (Jennifer) Clements, and Catherine (Bryan) Knisley, and 13 grandchildren. She was greeted in heaven by her siblings Mary Ryan, Sr Eileen DeLong RGS; James DeLong, and Ward DeLong, and parents Marie and Arthur DeLong. Funeral service will take place at Lumen Christi Catholic Church in St Paul on Saturday, December 16, 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be to the donor's church or the Dorothy Day Center (Catholic Charities).
