Obituary of Kathryn Jane Youngren

Kathryn Jane Sandwick was born Easter Sunday March 28, 1937, to Olaf and Eunice Sandwick. She left us very suddenly and without warning on July 26, 2022. 85 years young!

She married Ron Youngren on January 26, 1963, and they had many adventures together. She worked at a few jobs before settling in as Financial Secretary for the Cloquet Middle School where she worked for 28 years and retired in 1998. She spent her time at Iverson and on Meadow Grove Farm. She was full of fun and the life of every party. A vibrant woman with a heart for adventure. She did it ALL! Horseback riding, boating around area lakes and down the Mississippi River, snowmobiling around Lake Superior and the mountains out West. Even driving straight up Daisy Pass couldn’t slow her down; riding the Gold Wing Trike around Lake Superior and the Black Hills, but perhaps her favorite rides were on her John Deere tractor “Chug.” She was out raking hay just a few weeks ago. She was well known for jewelry making, often giving away more than she sold. The tomato plants she raised in her greenhouse supplied crops throughout Carlton County. She kept her family, her pets, and ALL wildlife well fed with fabulous feasts!

She was preceded in death by her parents, her In-Laws Avald and Clara Youngren and her beloved Grandson Jasper Youngren.

She is survived by her partner Ron Youngren, daughter Lee (Rick) Youngren-Manty, her son Chris (Julie) Youngren, Grandkids Mike (Amber) Thompson, Adam (Karen) Manty, Lance (Megan) Manty, Andrew (Jessica) Youngren. Great Grandchildren, Willow, Tessa, Kayla, Hayden, Hazel, Quinn, Reese, and Adalyn Jay, and many who called her Aunt Kathy.

We know we were loved by the best. She will be in our hearts forever.
