Obituary of Harvey Wayne Lay

Harvey Wayne Lay 

January 13, 1950 – July 24, 2022 

Born on January 13, 1950, in Glendale, CA to Chet and Judy (Baertsch) Lay. Harvey graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1968 and attended St. Cloud State University where he met his wife of 52 years, Ann Marie (Knudson). They united in marriage on February 7, 1970.  Harvey held a successful career in the transportation industry, volunteered his time with Veterans Hospital, Knights of Columbus, Men’s Club, St. Cloud Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #622, and usher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. 

Survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann Marie, son Travis Lay (Bonnie), grandsons Ashton and Connor of Alexandria, MN, daughter, Shannon Running (Chris) and granddaughters, Kennedy and Marissa of Elkhorn, NE, and half-sister, Kaylene Ashton of Provo, UT. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Judy Lay, in-laws Fred and Marilyn Knudson and nephew, Joey Kuehn. 

All services held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids, MN 

July 31, 2022, 4pm Rosary and visitation until 7pm 

August 1, 2022, visitation at 10am and funeral mass to follow at 11am
