Obituary of Drew Anthony Bloomquist
Drew Anthony Bloomquist, 34 passed away on July 20, 2022. Drew was born in Duluth on June 1st, 1988 to Darrel and Diane Bloomquist. Drew grew up in Gary-New Duluth where he created many lifelong friendships. He attended Denfeld High School where he is remembered for his involvement in the music, speech and theater community, as well as many other student activities. Drew went on to graduate from the carpentry program at Lake Superior College. He loved to build and create things with his hands, and was extremely talented. Over the years he created the most thoughtful gifts, beautiful handmade furniture, and renovated several houses. Drew met the love of his life, Rachel Ritter, in 2015 and together they built a beautiful life. They followed their dreams and moved to their lake home in Bovey. Drew and Rachel were married in 2020 joining two families together as one. Family was very important to Drew. He was happiest when everyone was together, and was always the one to remember and stick to traditions. Drew was our resident memory keeper and the best story teller. He was gifted at making everyone laugh and feel included. Drew is survived by his wife Rachel, mother Diane (Dave Dzuck), sister Kari (Chris) Harwood, step-brothers Jeff (Denise) Ditman and Ryan Ditman (Amanda Farris), in-laws Mitch and Mary Ritter, sister-in-laws Kate (Nick) Coy and Nicole (Brian) Costello and his very much loved nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind, an amazing family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Drew impacted a countless number of lives during his time with us. We will never forget his love of life, his love of people, and his huge hugs. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, July 27th 2:00-4:00pm at the Cremation Society 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN. 55807
