Obituary of PATRICK P. GEISELMAN

Patrick P. Geiselman, 64, of Hibbing, passed peacefully on Dec. 13, 2017, in his home after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family. Pat was born in Hibbing on March 8, 1953, to Patrick and Barbara Geiselman. He attended school in Hibbing. On Aug. 7, 1982, Pat married Cindy Myrum of Chisholm. Later, the two welcomed three children, Brooke, Brody and Brittany. He and Cindy raised their family in the log home that he and his father built. Pat spent a majority of his years working at the Department of Natural Resources-Lands and Minerals in Hibbing, retiring in 2015. Pat lived his life as an avid outdoorsmen. He enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting, fishing and camping out in God’s great north woods. This was a passion he learned from his father and grandfather, and shared with his own family. He loved taking road trips to the mountains out west with his wife and children. He also enjoyed spending time at his childhood cabin on Beauty Lake, gardening, cooking, watching hockey, and training and hunting with his Chesapeake Bay. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, of Hibbing; three children: Brooke (Patrick) Harle of Hibbing, Brody (Dawn Plattner) Geiselman of Nevis, Minn., and Brittany (Rory) Oberhelman of Hibbing; two grandchildren, Oliver and Elsie Harle; two siblings: Terry (Annette) Geiselman of Fort Collins, Colo., and Becky (Mike) Fenstermacher of Hibbing; parents, Patrick and Barbara Geiselman of Hibbing; mother-in-law, Arlyce Myrum of Chisholm; and numerous siblings-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends. Pat was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Milton Myrum. Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing with Rev. Kevin Olsen officiating. Visitation: Will be for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
