Obituary of Patti Jean Menz

Patti Jean Menz (Olson), 67, of Esko passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Solvay Hospice House with family at her side. Patti was born on October 2, 1950 to Richard and Jean Olson in Duluth. She was a life-long resident of Duluth. Patti was united in marriage to Larry Menz on November 24, 1972 and together they raised two children (Jodi and Jeremy). Patti enjoyed cooking and dancing and cherished her immediate and extended family. Patti graduated from Denfeld High School in 1968. She worked in secretarial roles throughout her career including; Dwight Swanstrom Insurance Agency, Denfeld High School, Central High School, YMCA (7 years), and Minnesota Power (22 years). Patti was preceded in death by her parents Jean and Richard Olson, sister Peggy Olson, and niece Melissa Olson. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry: children Jodi (Jeremy) Hellman, Jeremy Menz and Dan Markee, sisters Pamela (Terry) Gilbert, Penny (Larry) Van Why, brothers Richard "Swede" (Yvonne) Olson, Ronald (Arlys) Olson, Randy (Carolyn) Olson, Robert "Scott" (Linda) Olson; Brothers-in-law, Tom (Cheryl) Menz, Garry Menz; and many nieces, nephews and their families. The family would like to thank all her doctors and Solvay Hospice House for their compassionate care. Visitation will begin Thursday, December 28th, at 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN.
