Obituary of Rudolph Edward Lipinski

Rudolph "Rudy" Lipinski was born 15 November 1918, to Fredrick and Pauline (Kohler) Lipinski. He joined the MN National Guard (1936-39) at the age of 17 and later joined the US Army (1941-45)with the 28th Field Artillery, 8th Infantry Division seeing action in Normandy, France, Rhineland and Central Europe. After WWII ended, he continued serving in the MN National Guard (1946-80), retiring as a Master Sergeant. He married Anne Hansen in January of 1946. Together they built their house and raised two sons near Proctor. Rudy worked as a bus driver and transportation department shop foreman for the ISD 709 and retired in 1979 after 31 years of service. He passed away on December 18, at the age of 99. He is survived by his sons- Craig (Sharon) and Alan, grandchildren- Elizabeth (Evan) Magnus, Derek (Paula) Lipinski, Trevor (Jessica) Lipinski, Cole (Haley Johnson) Lipinski and Tyler Lipinski, great grandchildren - Riley, Ellie, Liam, and Kaiya; and sister-in-law Lois Hansen. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Anne,his parents, brother Albert, sisters Emma, Elsie, and Marie, brothers-in-law Bernard and Robert Hansen, and many friends. Service will be Tuesday, December 26 at 2pm at Bayshore Residence & Rehabilitation Center, 1601 St Louis Ave, Duluth MN. Full Military Honors provided by the Duluth Honor Guard. Luncheon to follow at the Moose Lodge in Proctor.
