Obituary of Anne Skarman

Anne Skarman, 102, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 in Aftenro Assisted Living in Duluth. Anne was born in Bergen, Norway on Nov. 1, 1915 to Sophie and Ole Eknes. She was united in marriage to Harry Skarman in 1937 and together they raised three children. Anne was a loving mother and family was very important to her. She was very involved with Our Savior's Lutheran Church and in the community. She was president of the Longfellow PTA, a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, just to name a few. She made friends wherever she went. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son, Orval; and nine siblings. Anne is survived by her daughters, Karen (Richard) Wipson and Carol (Dennis) Dennie; grandchildren, Rick, Pamela (Jim), Chris (Melissa), Janel, and AnneMarie (Roger); great-grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, and Ella; brothers, David and Billy (Betty); sister-in-law, Becky Eknes; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Caryl Turcotte. The family would like to thank Aftenro Assisted Living for the wonderful care they provided. Visitation: 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Memorial Service, Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, in Duluth.
