Obituary of Richard W. Nissen

Richard W. "Dick" Nissen, age 84, of Mpls., passed away August 22, 2018. Survived by wife Loretta (nee Lager), children and grandchildren; Julie (Dave) Cook, Amanda & Georgia; Mary (Brian) Bloomquist, Matt & Ben; Jeff (Denise) Nissen, Jack, Joe & Kate. Also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by parents Waldemar and Flora Nissen, sisters Marge Patten and Donna Nissen, niece Janis Patten & brothers-in-law Allen Patten and Russ Lager. Dick was a retired Edina Police officer who loved hunting, playing cribbage, volunteering, the MN Vikings (most of the time!) and a good cigar. An all- around great guy who was a friend to many and loved by all. Join us in celebrating Dick's life on Monday, Sept. 17th at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave So, Mpls. Visitation at 10:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM with a luncheon to follow. Private interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials may be directed to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church - Inner City Ministries.
