Obituary of David Henry Philipp

"David Henry Philipp, 74, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 in his apartment at The Legacy of Farmington with loved ones at his side. David was born on August 1, 1943 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Reinhold and Ila Philipp. He graduated from Topeka High School in Kansas and moved on to a job in law enforcement. David later moved to Minnesota and held a wide variety of jobs which included restaurant management and security, which he later retired from. David had a love of photography, reading, and fishing. David was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Katie Philipp, brother-in-law Ben Ravins, and the love of his life Kelly Maurer. He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Neva (Marlin) Lowry, Carol Ravins, Mark (Colleen) Philipp, his children Michel’ (Jim) Cole, Mike (Lisa) Philipp, Angel Philipp, and Tony (Jessica) Campbell, grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. David will be cremated with a celebration of life service to be planned in the spring. The family would love to thank The Legacy of Farmington as well as the staff at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, and St. Croix Hospice for their compassion shown to David. They went above and beyond for David in his final days."
