Pat Landy

Obituary of Pat Landy

Landy, Pat

Age 74 of St. Paul.

Pat was the youngest daughter of Ed and Ann Landy.

She is survived by her sisters, Michele (John) Tauer, Kate (Boz) Metzdorf; brother, John (Brenda); many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Pat lit up every room she entered with her beautiful Irish smile and wit. Each person she met got her full attention. Pat's life's work and expertise in child development were shared as a teacher in over two dozen different courses she taught at St. Paul College. She also served as a Director of a Child Care Center and during her years at Wilder's Child Care Center. Pat taught her students to connect with children with patience, love, and laughter, the values she had learned from her own parents.

She loved to meet friends for brunch or lunch, especially if the place had an outside veranda. Her garden and flower exhibits were very important. Pat visited the Como Conservatory and the Arboretum countless times with friends and family. Pat absolutely loved the Minnesota Twins, saw both World Series wins, and she and Ruth Appleton were rabid Dan Gladden fans. Pat went to St. Thomas U. basketball games coached by her nephew, Johnny Tauer, Jr., and supported nieces and nephews in whatever sport they were playing.

Pat's energy and positivity were contagious. The Kerwin girls loved it when she sat at the kids' table at family gatherings. They knew it would be more fun with her infectious laughter, bubbly personality and playful sarcasm.

Water uplifted and regenerated Pat's soul, whether it was a pool, a lake, or the ocean. She traveled to Ireland, England, Canada, Germany, France, Mexico, savored Door County beaches and left many footprints along Lake Superior. She left her footprints on our hearts as well.

She left behind a loving family who will miss her every day. She left behind many dear friends: Bea, Carlos, Chuck, Denise, Dennis, Edie, Jan, Jean, John, Nancy, Karl and Walter, Muffie, Noni, Dave, Quico, Richard, Ruth, 3 Sue's, Velma, Vicki, and so many more.
