Obituary of Maryae Ellen McDowell

Maryae Ellen McDowell, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2022.

Maryae was born in Minneapolis to Ellie and Joe McDowell, Feb. 4th, 1953. She attended Visitation grade school and graduated from Regina High School. Maryae worked at Walker Methodist Nursing Home and enjoyed caring for others. She loved making meals for her family, playing cards, embroidery and crocheting. Was a longtime member at Judson Memorial Baptist church.

Maryae suffered a TBI in 1989. She lived with her parents after this event and spent many wonderful years in Deerwood, MN on Serpent Lake. She lived many years as a resident and part of the Arbor House family where she was well cared for and loved. A special Thank You to Jody and all her care givers. Maryae was very appreciative for what she had and worked very hard to live her life to the fullest despite her limitations.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ellie and Joe, and brother Dan. Survived by brother Bill (Peggy), nephew Sam, nieces Maggie (Willie) Faust and Liz McDowell, sister-in-law Deanna Zent, Aunt Sunny Johnson and many cousins.

Service to celebrate her life at Judson Memorial Baptist Church, 4101 Harriet Ave. So., Minneapolis, June 22nd, 6pm.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials preferred to Epilepsy Foundation or Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.
