Obituary of Helen B. Hamren

Hamren, Helen B. Age 93 of Chanhassen, passed away peacefully on Jan 3, 2018. Helen graduated from Staples, MN H.S. and then attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN (class of 1948), where she met the love of her life Arnold, in Norwegian class. Helen was creative, outgoing and social. She loved to play the piano surrounded by her family, belting out songs. She was an accomplished seamstress and an awesome cook. Her passion for golf was also a big part of her life. She loved and was very proud of her family and showed her support always. We all loved Helen deeply and will miss her very much. Preceded in death by husband of 66 years, Arnold; parents, August B. and Anna T. Bergh and brother Arndt. Survived by three children: Marc (Pam) Hamren, Chris (Dave) Rine, and Carol Hamren; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie (Jake) Hawley, Michelle (Scott) Olmsted, Becky (Leif) Ulstrom, Kim (Jason) Wismar and Kelly Hamren-Anderson; 9 great-grandchildren and many friends. Funeral service on Friday at 11 AM, with visitation at 10 AM, Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Road 19, Excelsior. Interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery following the service. Any memorials should be directed to Auburn Home, 594 Cherry Drive in Waconia.
