Obituary of Helen Marie Pence

Helen Marie (Meados) Pence, age 93, of Lakeville, MN, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Chuck) of 56 years, and daughter Mary Stevens. Survived by children Teresa Thoreson (Steve), Barbara Johnson (Ray), Thomas Pence, William Pence (June), John Pence, Paul Pence (Kathy), 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Chisholm, MN, she graduated from Chisholm High School where she was homecoming queen in 1945. After attending Hibbing Community college, she worked as a secretary before she met Chuck in 1950, and married him the following year. While raising 7 children in Bloomington and Minneapolis, she found time for her favorite hobbies including sewing, cooking, and china painting. Fond memories of her fabulous cooking, weekend trips to the cabin and many family gatherings will always be cherished. After moving to Lakeville in the 1980s, she and Chuck were active volunteers in their neighborhood, their local parish, and the League of Catholic Women. Then, when the grandchildren arrived, their life was overflowing with happy events and memorable times.

Helen was a warm, loving mother, and grandmother and a friend to many. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and will be dearly missed.
