It's a small world. I knew Pete in the 70's when he was married to my cousin. Over the years, life happened, and I didn't see Pete again. Until, one day a couple years ago, my husband came home from playing cards and said this guy "Pete" knew my family. I was confused, to say the least. Come to find out that my husband and son had been playing cards for over 10 years with my "Cousin Pete" as we nick-named him. We were able to reconnect and talk about the last 50 years. During Covid, the guys played pinocle over the internet and I could always pick out Pete's laughter. They were able to play cards online a few times before Pete passed and the last thing I heard him say was "Thanks Guys. I really really had fun!" I could tell from his voice how much it meant to him and I got tears in my eyes, knowing that there may not be many more games with Pete. Those last games are cherished by Don, Brad, Jan and Charlie, and will not be forgotten. Condolences to his family and we will remember Pete always.
