Obituary of Duane Boeser

Boeser, Duane “Duke” age 61 of Burnsville, MN born on February 11, 1961 passed peacefully at home on May 27, 2022 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Cancer.

Preceded in death by parents Lyle and Geri. He is survived by his spouse, Laurie Matthews Boeser, children Brock Boeser, Jessica Boeser, Paul Matthews (Melissa), grandchildren Easton and Lennyn. Siblings Russ (Teri) Boeser, Jeff (Vicki)Boeser, Todd (Jill)Boeser, Melissa (Tom) Nenovich, mother-in-law Elaine Burmeister, brothers in law Randy Burmeister (Connie), Gregg (Kate) Burmeister, nieces and nephews Lisa (Billy), Dan (Marissa), Jenny, Shane, Katelyn, Savannah, Sydney, Haley, Adam (Beth), Rachel (Cole), Tyler, Trevor and great nieces and nephews.

During his 28 years of marriage to Laurie Matthews (Burmeister), he welcomed stepson Paul Matthews and children Jessica and Brock Boeser. He was a loving husband and very proud father. He loved watching all three kids grow up, especially when playing sports; he was their #1 fan in life. A recent highlight in his life was becoming a grandpa to Easton and Lennyn.

Duke always had a twinkle in his eye, a smile on his face, infectious energy, loved a good nap, had quick wit and was an avid dog lover. He had a loyalty to family and friends ~ especially “the Dogs” ~ his longtime high school buddies.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Duke’s longtime caregiver, Sheri, who also became a good friend.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13801 Fairview Dr. Burnsville, MN 55337. Visitation begins at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, family would prefer donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a charitable organization of your choice.
