Obituary of Elaine Doris Linder
Elaine Doris Linder, 85, formerly of Duluth, passed away on May 19 in Burnsville, MN. She was born in Virginia, MN, on September 27, 1936, to Leroy and Amelia Curtiss. She attended Roosevelt High School and Virginia Junior College. Shortly thereafter, she caught Curtis’ eye; they married on July 28, 1956, and were happily married for 62 years. Curtis diligently took care of her as long as he could in their home. Devoted to her immediate and extended family, Elaine loved spending time with them all as well as her close friends which included neighbors, church friends and snowbirds. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, completing crossword puzzles, hosting at the cabin and volunteering extensively, whether leading Brownies, cuddling newborns in the hospital, working the school library or doing various jobs in the church such as the accounting, bazaar set up, or making pasties.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Linder, brother Melvin Curtiss, sisters June Williams and Caroll Curtiss.
Elaine is survived by her children: Amy Deick (Jan), Jim Linder (Linda), Pam Griggs (Toby), Judy Rock (Martin), grandchildren: Nicholas Deick (Ashley), Sophie Chapman (Steven), Zachary Linder, Ben Kohlhaas (Rachael), Alex Kohlhaas, Nathan Rock (Sarah Campbell), Carter Rock (Jenna), great-grandson Liam Deick, sisters: Lora Lee Curtiss, Pat Stark, and brother, Robert Curtiss.
Mom, your smile and sense of humor will be missed. We will think of you every day as you thought of us every day.
