Obituary of Joan Elizabeth Kreft

Jo lived in St.Loius Park, MN with her husband and daughter for 45 years.

Jo was born in Thief River Falls MN. During her high school years the family moved to Waseca, MN where she graduated from Waseca High School in 1965.  She had a degree in laboratory science from St. Mary's College and worked in medical clinic labs for many years. In 1997 she transitioned to informatics and played a pivotal role in transitioning medical clinics from paper charts to electronic medical records. She loved to play games and was a notoriously devious card player. During holidays, everyone enjoyed the deliciousness of her family's baking recipes. Jo enjoyed a good book, spending time outside and really enjoyed visiting the ocean and the mountains. She loved her family more than anything and her two grandchildren were her pride and joy. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Morris and Ruth Howick. Survived by her husband Robert (married 49 years), daughter Jennifer (Eric), grandchildren McKenna and Alex, Sister Martha, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. 

Celebration of Life will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota located at 7110 France Ave, Edina, MN 55409 on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 1:30-4:30pm. Visitation starts at 1:30, with service starting at 2:00pm. Reception to follow.
