Obituary of Dale R. Mundle

Dale R. Mundle, Sr. of Hermantown, died at home Saturday, January 27, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 1, 1942 in Hallock, MN and grew up in and attended schools In Proctor and Duluth. Dale joined the Marine Corps in Oct. 1959 and served 4 years, being honorably discharged in Oct. 1963. When he returned home he had a number of various jobs, including Lee's House Moving, the Steel Plant, and Plaunt Plumbing until he decided to return to school to become an electrician. He retired in 2001 after being an apprentice, journeyman and foreman on jobs in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin and North Dakota. Dale was a proud Marine, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and had us laughing the day he came home to enter hospice. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed, fishing, hunting, playing cards, traveling with family and the daily crossword puzzle. But his favorite hobby was spending time working on his hot rods. He married Elaine Lee in June of 1966 and they raised two children. Dale was preceded in death by his father, John Mundle and mother, Grace Dunaisky; his brothers, William "Billy," Edward "Red," Chester "Chet" and his sisters, Ethel Mitchell and baby Phyllis.
