Obituary of Nancy Bubalo

Nancy Bubalo, 81, of Duluth passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 in Diamond Willow Assisted Living, in Proctor. Nancy was born in Superior, WI on April 24, 1936 to Carl and Violet Liljegren. She graduated from Superior Central High School in 1954. She graduated with a degree in teaching from UWS in 1958. Nancy taught elementary school in Robbinsdale, MN, Superior, WI, and at Riverside Elementary and Stowe Elementary, in Duluth. She retired in 1996. Nancy was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Superior, WI. She was also a member of Luther League and Delta Sigma Sorority at UWS. Nancy married Rudy Bubalo on Dec. 27, 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Richard. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Bruce) Gunderson; sister, Carolyn (Bill) Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Mary Liljegren, Betty Bubalo, and Mary Bibbey; nieces and nephews; and special life-long Smithville neighbors and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Diamond Willow for the wonderful care given to Nancy. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, January 12, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth.
