Obituary of Joseph Edward Collins

Joseph Edward Collins, age 63, passed away April 10, 2022, in Minneapolis after a courageous battle recovering from cancer.

Born and raised in Anoka, Minnesota, to Marjorie (Wick) Collins and Thomas Collins. Joe was a graduate of Anoka high school class of 1977 and later attended Anoka Technical College for Forestry, Horticulture and Agronomy before going to work for Asplundh tree care. Joe would later move to Bloomington, Minnesota, and work for the City of Bloomington Public Works.  Joe loved the outdoors, wildlife and had a passion for nature.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Collins, and survived by his Mother Marjorie Collins, brother Steve Collins, and sisters Elizabeth Warren (Dan) and Kate Daysh. Son Michael Collins (Melissa) and grandsons Joe, Louis, Lennon and Alex. Nieces Amanda and Jennifer. Nephews Josh, Matt and Lucas. Joe was a longtime friend of Bill W. and incredibly fortunate to have a group of wonderful friends that stood by his side through many of life's challenges. The family would like to thank them for their love and support and give a special mention to Tim Finley, Matt Felknor, Ray Bissonette, Su Olson and Lee Menter.

Visitation and service will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Brooklyn Park Minnesota on April 25, 2022 from noon to 3 PM.
