Obituary of Marie T Cristan

Marie T. Cristan, 88, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on March 30, 2022, at Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood, St. Paul, MN. She was born April 7, 1933 in Iron Mountain, daughter of Ubaldo and Maria Fiorucci and was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain. In 1950 she married her husband Oliver and they enjoyed 69 years of loving marriage. She was a loving mother who dedicated the majority of her time working outside the home to support the family, caring for the family, cooking great Italian meals and making sure family food stockpiles were always full with homemade raviolis, cappelletti, pasties and canning all the garden vegetables to name a few.  She was also a very accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting sweaters, hats, gloves, socks, and scarfs for dad and the grandkids. There were never too many patches on dads or the boys jeans and she took great pride in making them look nice. She was always busy working full time and raising three boys but we do recall seeing many clothes mending drop-offs from neighbors and friends which she happily attended to. 

Marie was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Marie is survived by her sons; Louis (Kathy Frankini), Paul (Patti Skoglund) and Richard (Janet Rasmussen), who reside in St. Paul, MN. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Marie is preceded in death by her husband Oliver, siblings; Leticia, Ralph, Joe and Gina.

At the request of Marie there will be no visitation and the funeral service will be private.
