Franson, Margaret Ida Viola, “Maggie”, born December 26, 1929, age 92, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully, January 17th, 2022. Preceded in death by parents, Erik Chapman, Ida Hokanson, (stepfather) Fritz Hokanson, (brother) Kenneth Hokanson, very special friend, Paul Wennerstrom, and (former husband) Richard V. Franson. She will be missed by her siblings Steve (Jeanne) Hokanson, Darlene Jovanovich, Elaine Modeen, children Terri (Mark), Todd (Kathleen), Tim (Elizabeth) and grandchild Catherine (Brad) and her two great grandchildren, Daniel Melvin and Chloe Margaret. Plus many nieces, nephews, and friends. A special recognition to her aunt and best friend, Peggy Swanson, and long time friend, Sharon Shimomura, and her extended family at Martin Luther Care Center. She was a graduate of Robbinsdale High School Class of 1948. Margaret retired from Northwest Airlines after thirty five years of service as a Teletype Operator and Reservation Agent. She spent her life being active in Minneapolis political campaigns. After retiring, she was a Mpls. Aqua Jester Clown and could often be found at the Medina and various other ballrooms/clubs, dancing the day and night away. The last several years was dancing with her friend, Paul. She was a worldly traveler and enjoyed every minute of it. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 13th, 1:00 pm at Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina MN 55435. Visitation starting at 12 noon. Reception to follow service.
