Obituary of Susan M. Woodruff
Susan (Sue, Susie) Marlene Woodruff entered into her heavenly home on Monday, March 21st 2022 at the age of 63 with both of her daughters holding her hands. Her husband Hurcil (Herbie) was a constant presence at her side during the last three days she was with us.
Sue was the most loving and kind person one could ever meet. Her daughters Diana and Helena, her grandchildren August and Adeline, and her husband Herbie were the light of her life, as well as her many cats. Sue and Herbie were married on October 24th, 1981 at Holy Communion Church in Minneapolis. This past October they celebrated 40 years of marriage.
She loved being outside more than anything, gardening in her gorgeous backyard. She also enjoyed playing games with her grandkids, volunteering as an adoption counselor at Caring For Cats in North St. Paul, and shining her smile onto the world. From 2014-2017 she provided full-time daycare to her grandson Auggie which led to a lifelong bond between the pair. She also loved to travel and fished anywhere she could; from the lakes of Minnesota to the oceans off the Florida coast.
Sue would do anything for anyone who asked and was a joy to all who crossed her path. To say she had a sense of humor would be quite the understatement. Anyone that was lucky enough to meet her was lucky enough to know the love and kindness she showered upon her family. Many who knew her called her a second mother. We were lucky enough to just call her our mom and best friend. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Hurcil Woodruff, daughters Diana (Joshua) Pehl, Helena Woodruff, grandchildren August and Adeline Pehl, Father Delbert Yaeger (Rita), Brothers Tim Yaeger (Carrie), Larry Yaeger (Lorraine), Sister Tracie Pogue (Larry), half sisters Laura, Sara, and Becky, foster brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and her two kitties Chase and Rosebud.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Kunitz and her beloved grandmother Helen Higgins with whom she was very close.
Susie's celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 1st at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
