Obituary of Michael John Miller

Miller, Michael John Age 73 of Mpls, passed away March 15th, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents Alexander William Miller and Madrienne Miller (Verna) and brother Dave Miller. Mike was born in Minneapolis May 29th, 1948. He attended St. Kevin's K-8 and graduated from Bloomington Kennedy High School class of 1966. He was then drafted into the US Army Sept. 12th, 1966 and served four years with a tour in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Campaign Metal, Vietnam Service Medal, Two Overseas Service Bars, and Sharpshooter badge M-14 Rifle. After his service, he moved back to Minneapolis where he worked at Schmitt Brewery. He then spent some time as a freelance photographer in Hawaii. He purchased his first home shortly after he moved back to Mpls where he would then reside for the next 50+ years. Mike used his outgoing personality to attain a sales role for Midwest Window and Siding Co. He worked there and had a very successful career over the course of the next 20 years. His life changed forever in December 1990 where he had his first and only son (Jeff). He was an outstanding father who was deeply involved in Jeffs life through school, sports, fishing, and everything in between. Mike attended and coached almost every one of Jeff's sport events and was his #1 fan. Survived by his son Jeff (Allison), Sister Kathy (Allan) and Ex-wife Rose Gianlorenzi. A celebration of life will be held on Friday March 25th from 3PM-6PM at the Double Tree Hotel in Bloomington. A service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be held separately Wednesday March 30 at 10:00am
