Obituary of Richard D. Kennedy

Richard D. Kennedy, age 87 of St. Paul, MN

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26th 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Jacqueline Stevens Kennedy of St. Paul, MN; his father John Thomas Kennedy, and his mother, Helen Davis Kennedy of Milwaukee, WI. Survived by daughter Betsy (John Blaine), granddaughters Anna and Katherine; son Dave, granddaughters Audrey and Eleanor; daughter Carrie (Eric), and grandsons Kieran and Kyle; brother John (Sue Shanks) of Brunswick, ME; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Dick was born on March 30, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1952. He earned a BA in Political Science at Miami University, OH. After graduation, he served in the US Navy as a gunnery officer on the USS Black and enjoyed traveling the South Pacific. Most of his professional life was spent in management/human resources at Superior, Water, Light & Power in Superior, WI. After retiring in 1991 and moving to St. Paul with Jackie, Dick enjoyed a second career at My-Tana manufacturing; pursuing his lifelong love for music by performing in the Metropolitan Male Chorus; caring for grandchildren, and traveling.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 16th at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Reformation Church, 100 Oxford St. North, St. Paul, MN 55104. Visitation begins one hour prior and lunch will follow.
