Obituary of Lawrence Heinz, Jr.
Lawrence “Tiny or Larry” Henry Heinz, Jr.
Sergeant in the Marines, he served aboard Marine One
Civil Engineer for the city of Minneapolis, had his fingers in much of the redevelopment and infrastructure in and around downtown.
Loved fishing, softball, boats and his dog Lucy.
Sang off-key, loud and just a bit too slow.
A good and patient teacher, whip-smart, with a droll sense of humor.
Entirely comfortable in his own skin, sometimes to the embarrassment of his daughters
Loved his family quietly and fiercely, and worked hard to provide them a good home, an education, a future filled with hope.
Loved vacations on Padre Island, Texas, walking the beach for hours, collecting shells and watching the sea.
Thankfully, those are the memories that come flooding back now—they were harder to come by in recent years. We give thanks that he is at peace and free from the Alzheimer’s prison, and rest in the promise that nothing, not even death, can separate him (and us) from the love of God through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Memorials preferred to: Faith Lutheran Church 11115 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433 or Impact Services, 7590 Lyric Lane NE, Fridley, MN 55432
