Rochelle Lewis

Obituary of Rochelle Ann Lewis

Rochelle “Shelly” Ann Lewis, 62, of Woodbury, MN, passed away January 23, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Shelly was born August 5, 1958, to Charles and Carol DeLaMartre, who preceded her in death. A beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and sister, Shelly amazed everyone with her toughness by fighting cancer for over 12 years. She was a caregiver to many in professional roles from nursing assistant at Ramsey County Care Center to daycare provider and driving instructor.  Shelly embraced fun; she loved vacations, to shop, the beach, live music, and playing games with her children and grandchildren. Little was more important to her than her cats Louie and Winnie, as anyone could see by the cat décor in her home. She spent most of her summers outside, gardening or enjoying a cold moscato on the deck.

She is survived by her husband, Brian; daughters Jolene Erickson (Jay) and Tanya Beck (Jon); sister Lori Workman; grandchildren Kody, Kai, Bennett and Emma; and many other loving family members. Shelly’s daughter Makayla Lewis joined her in death shortly after her passing. A sister, Rene Dailey, preceded Shelly in death. A celebration of life will be held for both Rochelle and Makayla 2 p.m.-6 p.m. April 3, 2022, at Sweeney’s, 96 Dale St N, St. Paul, MN. Special thanks to Hospice of the Midwest for making the final days of her life as comfortable as possible and taking such good care of all of us.
