Obituary of Phyllis C Olds
Phyllis C (Weaver) Olds
Phyllis age 64, of New Hope, MN her work here completed on Saturday, February 12, 2022. The additional respiratory impacts due to Covid January 2022 with the Multiple Myeloma became too much to recover from. With the loving support of the medical team at Methodist Hospital, St Louis Park, MN, Phyllis went to be with Jesus while surrounded by prayer, worship, and a few of the people that loved her.
On behalf of Phyllis, gratitude and love in your being a part of her life journey and including her in a part of yours. Appreciation and Thanks to the many who supported her and held her in prayer these past several years, in the medical fields, close friends, and family especially since the cancer diagnosis in March 2020 and in her going through treatments mostly during these times with the covid limitations.
Phyllis was the daughter of the late Cecil and Hazel Weaver, born to them in Jefferson, Iowa, September 15, 1957. Was preceded in death by half-sister Maxine Sweatt.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Grant; stepson David (Becky) Olds, grandchildren Alex, Ian and Renee. Also survived by sister, Marcia Weaver; half-sisters Caryl (Dave) Wilson, Marilyn Flick, Connie (Wayne) Turner; three nieces; four nephews; and numerous close friends and extended family.
Phyllis was a longtime resident of MN and the Twin Cities area. Early years were in the farming community of Owatonna, MN where she became skilled in driving farm equipment, including combines at a young age. She went on to receive a Bachelors degree in Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Returned to MN and through the years had various positions as Manager, Administrative Assistant, Care Giver/Advocate, and since 2008 positions with Park Harbor Church. She has been an integral part of the core group for 12 years now in organizing the children’s/youth summer camp, which she loved, Burn4Him Camp.
A Celebration of Life Service for Phyllis will be held Sunday, March 6th, at 5 pm at Park Harbor Church with Pastor Robert Christenson officiating. There will be a time of fellowship, coffee and light desserts in the church gym following the service. Park Harbor Church, 1615 Texas Avenue S, St Louis Park, MN 55426. www.parkharbor.org
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial of monetary contributions be made: through online giving @parkharbor.org, Conference Fund, memo Burn4Him Camp. Checks made out to Conference Fund, memo Burn4Him Camp and mail to Park Harbor Church. A scholarship fund has been set up in Phyllis Olds name.
Leaving with sharing this poem: RENEW by Bonnie Mohr
COME to the water, LIVE in the moment, and BE.
REFRESH your mind, REST your body, RENEW your spirit.
REGAIN a gentle heart and PEACEFUL soul.
RECLAIM YOURSELF.
RESTORE in The Power that is greater than you.
Celebration of Life
