Obituary of Joseph Wallace
Joseph "Jerry" Wallace age 87 of Coon Rapids. Born August 29, 1934 (Kanabec County) went home to the Lord on February 13, 2022 after a short battle with lung cancer. Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, JoAnn “JoJo” Wallace (Krawiecki); parents, Burton & Mary Eileen (McCaffrey); brother, George (Laverne), sister Marjorie Kadlec. Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He drove a tank while stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Jerry was a long time member of the Pipefitters Local Union #539. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons and other family and friends. He was able to hunt one last deer season in November 2021, at the age of 87. For many years, he and JoJo loved their cabin on Lake Ada. Together they traveled to many countries, and he continued traveling on his own, where he met many new friends. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and making his yard look beautiful. Jerry was a daily customer of Pappy's restaurant, where he had many wonderful friends. Jerry was a proud American, who was very passionate about politics and eager to share his opinion.
He will be deeply missed by: his children, Christopher (Diane), Wendy, Kelly (Jacki), Shannon (Dave) Springer; grandchildren, Tara (Gannett) Pitkin, Joshua Buzick, Sean Wallace, Samantha and Jesse Prescott, Keegan Springer; great grandchildren, Ashton and Emerson Pitkin; many relatives and good friends. Celebration of Life will be held Friday March 4, 2022: Visitation at 10:00 am and Funeral Service at 11:00 am at: Eagle Brook Church, 8498 Sunset Road NE, Spring Lake Park.
