Obituary of Dennis Galvin

Dennis (Denny) Galvin, age 79, of Coon Rapids, formerly of Minneapolis passed away January 30, 2022.

Denny was born on April 19, 1942 in Minneapolis to John and Mary Galvin.  He was the first baby in the family and received loads of attention from his mother and aunts!  After graduating from DeLaSalle High School he joined the Air Force and ultimately landed in Duluth where he met and married the love of his life Sue.  Three kids later, the family moved to the Minneapolis area. 

Denny loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was always there for his family.  He enjoyed Christmas (more than most) and loved sharing the joys of the season, especially with children.  Over the years Denny loved basketball, bowling, gardening, and fishing.  He even managed a few years of softball with his sons Shawn and Mickey.  

Preceded in death by wife Susan, sister Joyce Recer and grandson Luke.  Survived by children, Shawn (Caylani), Tina, Mickey (Denise); grandchildren, Haley, Bailey, Abbey and Joshua; sisters, Joan (Mark) Heider, MaryEtta (Roger) Schaffler; brothers, Tom (Dee) Galvin, Kevin (Theresa) Galvin; many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

A Celebration of life will be held from 1-4 PM on Sunday, April 24 at: Kraus-Hartig VFW Post 6587, 8100 Pleasant View Drive NE, Spring Lake Park, MN 55432.
