Obituary of Richard Channing Beeth

Richard Beeth

"Rich", "Richie"

1/23/56-1/7/2022

Beeth, Richard Channing, age 65 of Bloomington, MN passed away Jan. 7, 2022, with his son, Christopher holding his hand. Preceded in death by parents, Earl and LaVerne, brother Greg, and grandparents. Richard is survived by his son, Christopher, and Christopher’s mother, Laura, sister Karen (Gary) Kirt, niece Kate (Aaron) Wagner, great nephews Hudson and Austin, and extended family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues.

Richard earned his degree in landscape design and began a career at Bachman’s, where he cultivated lifelong friendships with his co-workers — they called him Richie. He worked there over four decades until his retirement.

Richard modeled and was in commercials early in his career. Friends and family thought he should go to Hollywood and become a star, with such good looks.

Richard met his former wife Laura at a Minnesota Vikings event, and they were married for 31 years. They had one son, Christopher, who they treasured. Richard was always proud he produced such a talented and loving son. Richard also loved dogs, and he considered them companions. He had them throughout his life and cherished every one of them.

Richard appreciated and gave considerate attention to the smaller things in life. The things that bring you and others joy day-to-day. Things, such as decorating for the holidays, feeding and observing wild life, spoiling the dog, and taking his son and his friends tubing on the lake for hours on end.

Richard loved visiting his cabin with his family, especially boating. He found peace in nature, and enjoyed wildlife and outdoor recreation. Landscape and design were passions of his, along with gardening. He loved jazz. He was an avid reader, consuming content on travel, cooking and Minnesota history. And he loved most of all, watching his son participate in sports and music.

Much gratitude for the excellent care and compassion from the doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, chaplains, and Priest Father Jerry Fehn at Fairview Southdale Hospital.

Memorials in Richard’s name can be made to the Animal Humane Society.

A service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, 10:00 am at Mount Hope Cemetery, Carver, Minnesota.

Family and close friends included.

The plans are to bury Richard next to his parents (Beeth) and extended family (Hebeisen).

The family is praying for peace,

God Grant Me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
