Obituary of Mildred Maloney

Heaven gained a beautiful angel when Mildred "Millie" Maloney passed away from complications of COVID-19 at age 99, on January 10, 2022. Millie was born on December 19, 1922 to Elmer and Erna (Tabor) Pretsch in Ostrander, MN. She graduated from Spring Valley (SV) High School in 1940. She was married to Fay Daniel Maloney on November 30, 1947.

Millie took great delight in the many birds at her feeder. She enjoyed gardening, and growing beautiful flowers and bountiful vegetables for her cherished family. She also served hot lunch to 100's of children at the SV grade school during her 'lunch lady' years. Her greatest blessings were her 5 children: John (Bertha Maloney), Dianne (Gary Krukar), Steve (Marlene Maloney), Dennis (Kathy McLaughlin), and Gregory (Tracie Maloney). She is also survived by her sisters: Erna (Elton Tart), Alice (Lloyd Hofner), Norma (Wallace Tate), 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Millie was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Pretsch, and her beloved husband, Fay.

Millie was a longtime member of Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, MN. She will be forever missed by the many who loved her. A private memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
