Obituary of Gladys Marie Graham

Gladys Graham a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, Mother, Wife and Friend to many passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was 85 years old. Gladys was born on May 18, 1936 to John Barr and Lucile Linton in Idabel, Oklahoma. She grew up on a farm with six sisters and two brothers. Although, she was not the last born of her siblings she was the last to fall asleep in death. This proceeds the death of her only son Kerry Graham and his wife Ava Graham. Son in-law David Watts Senior and as mentioned, All of her siblings.

Gladys and husband James lovingly took on the responsibility of raising their only son‘s youngest two children, Bartholomew and Tamala Graham as their own from infancy with the help of their only daughter Beverly Watts. Gladys also adopted a huge role in raising her other grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many spiritual sons and daughters.

Outside of her motherly love, she fell deeply in love and married the man of her dreams on March 20th 1959 in El Paso, TX. Mr. James E. Graham. They were the epitome of true love between two people. In her final days Gladys rested in peace until her last breath was taken right by her husband’s side after 62 years of marriage. This was true love.

Although suffering through a myriad of health issues Gladys faith and service to Jehovah never wavered. she was a regular pioneer for most of her life dedicating her time to preaching and teaching others about Bible truth that can now be found using an app called jw.org.

Her greatest accomplishments include but are not limited to mothering two wonderful children, being a devoted wife, being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Assistant in Nursing, Pioneering, Master of Home” Culinary and in her most recent years, her many hours of volunteer work at the Walker Methodist Center of Minneapolis.

Gladys is survived by her husband James Graham, daughter Beverly Watts, Sisters in-law Willie Campbell, Marjorie Hendricks and Patricia Graham as well as grandchildren David(Kelly) Watts, Quiona (James) Watts, Alyia Schneider, Tanisha Graham, Chaka(Shannon Jackson), Bartholomew(Takayla) Graham, Tamela Graham and an abundance of nephews and niece and great grandchildren.
