Obituary of Judith Ann Brantner

 

Judith “Judy” Ann Brantner, age 75 of Burnsville formerly of Apple Valley and Delhi MN went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday January 12, 2022 at her home with her loving family.

Judy was born May 25, 1946 to Norman and Myrtle Ockwig in Echo MN.  Judy was loved and adored by her family and friends. Judy was married to Bert Brantner in 1980, Judy and Bert lived and enjoyed their years in Apple Valley, building their home, working hard, enjoying time camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends, and dancing the nights away at the Apple Valley Legion.  They purchased a small home in Judy’s home town in Delhi MN and made this 2nd home a very memorable special place.  Upon Bert’s passing in 2002, Judy sold the Apple Valley home and moved to Delhi to be near her siblings, her children and grandchildren visited often and have wonderful memories never to be forgotten. In 2017 it was decided Judy would move back to the cities to be closer to her children due to her health.

Judy was a fun and witty Grandma with a true gift of telling the best stories, and who enthusiastically spent and devoted her time to loving and celebrating each of them. Judy also enjoyed having coffee while catching up with her siblings, making lists, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles.  She loved spending time at her beloved “Little House” in Delhi MN.

Judy is preceded in death by beloved Husband of 22 years Norbert (Bert) Brantner, Parents Norman and Myrtle Ockwig, Brothers Gerald “Jerry” and Roger Ockwig, First Husband and Father of her Children Thomas L Newkirk (survived by Marlys Newkirk) 

Judy is survived by siblings:  Sheryl “Lolly” (Merlyn)Hall, Donald Ockwig (Pat), Ann Dethlefs, Charlene (Joel) Buller, Deborah Smith, Patricia Ryan, Peter Ockwig, and numerous loving Cousins, Nieces and Nephews

Beloved Children Tonnette Sponsler (Tony), Robin Newkirk, Jason Newkirk, Tyra Thompson(Mark) and Step Son Tony Brantner, Seven Grandchildren and one Great Granddaughter.

Services to be held Friday February 4th, 2022 4pm-6pm (Visitation 4pm, Services 5pm) at Cedar Valley Church, 8600 Bloomington Avenue S, Bloomington, MN. Private Family Spring Burial in Renville MN to follow.
