Obituary of Donald A McCormick

Jan. 28, 1949 – Dec. 29, 2021 DULUTH, MN – Don McCormick, 72, died unexpectedly at home. He was born in St Paul MN and was a 1967 Harding High graduate. Known as a Vietnam Army veteran, a Watchmaker and a Fire Fighter - 1st Responder. Whatever he was involved with, Don was known as a man that loved God, his family and his country—in that order. He believed “once you commit, don’t quit.” Known to his friends as “Up North Don”, he is survived by his Wife Julie of 18 years aka “Jewel of the North”. He is also survived by his sister: Sherry (Jerry) Pitzen; sister in law: Denise (Bill) McCormick, and including “step”: 6 Children, 11 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Don is preceded in death by his Parents: Donald and Dorothy (Dottie) McCormick and his Brother: Bill McCormick. Visitation will be 11:30-12:30, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Sat, Jan 22nd at Gethsemane Covenant Church, 4479 Ugstad Rd, Hermantown MN. Snow date Jan 29th. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Saginaw MN.
