Obituary of Eugene Leonard Jarett

Eugene Leonard Jarett was born on November 5,1925 in Zumbrota, MN to Clarence and Elizabeth (Conover) Jarett. Gene graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Navy on January 11, 1944 and was discharged January 30, 1946.
Eugene Jarett and Joanne Crowley were united in marriage at the Little Brown Church on April 11, 1947.
They resided in the Rochester, MN area while Gene went to the University of Minnesota and Graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy. During that time they were blessed with 5 children; Mike, Doug, Tom, Lyn and Luana.
The family moved to Litchfield, MN in 1955 where they lived until moving to Milan, MN in 1966 where Gene and Family fulfilled his dream of owning his own Drug Store.
In 1973, nearly empty nested, they moved to Faribault, MN where they remained until Gene retired in 1990.
In 1991 Gene and Joanne built their dream home on Lobster Lake Alexandria, MN. With Many Beautiful memories Gene moved to Grand Arbor Independent Living in 2012.
Gene was heartbroken and empty when the love of his life and forever love of “70” years of marriage, Joanne, passed away in 2016.
Shortly after her passing in 2016, due to a fall, Gene became a resident in Grand Arbor Assisted Living and has resided here ever since.
Gene passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the age of 96. Gene was a Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Gene is survived by his children Mike (Linda) of Wildwood, MO; Lyn (Don) Olson of Waseca, MN; and Luana (Bob) Thompson of Rosemount, MN. Also survived by Daughter-In-Laws Jayne (Doug) Jarett of Alexandria, MN and Barb (Tom) Jarett of Duvall, WA. Gene is also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 32 Great Grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by the Love of his Life, his wife, Joanne, son Doug, son Tom, brother Bob, mother Elizabeth and many other loved ones.
Gene was a Very Special Man and will be missed by So many.
