Obituary of Julie Silvernail

Julie Silvernail, age 77, passed away peacefully in her home on December 31, 2021. She was born on July 24, 1944 in New Ulm, MN, graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1962, and attended the University of Minnesota. Julie found joy and fulfillment throughout her life as an educator for preschool and school-aged children.

Julie was the proud and loving mother of Martin, Michelle, and Matthew Silvernail, and cherished grandmother to Lily Lengvenis, Maya Lengvenis, and Olivia Silvernail. She was additionally blessed in later years to join the lives of daughter Kristin Vetsch and grandchildren Jake and Megan. 

Julie was patient, kind, loving, and profoundly spiritual. She showed us how to live this life with love, laughter, and gratitude. She will be missed by all who had the fortune to know her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Marion (Olmon) Lien, and her brother Craig Lien; Julie is survived by her sisters and brother, Mary Ann (Joel) Elftmann, Margaret Taft, and Doug (Maryan) Lien; her children and grandchildren; and a cherished circle of family and friends.

Funeral services and celebration of Julie's life will be held on May 6th at 11am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Julie has requested that memorial contributions be made to Can Do Canines of New Hope, MN.
