Obituary of Wayne Richard Pilgrim
Wayne Richard (Rick) Pilgrim, 79, passed away on December 19, 2021, in Stillwater, MN. He was born on February 20, 1942 in Cadott, WI to William and Margaret (Kranig) Pilgrim. He was a graduate of the Cadott High School class of 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 26, 1960, and was stationed at Fitzsimons General Hospital in Denver, CO. He served there until October 25, 1963. He transitioned to the U.S. Army Reserves until his honorable discharge on October 25, 1966.
After the Army, Wayne worked for Glendenning Motorways, Dart Transit, and many years with the Minnesota Department of Human Services. He retired in 2000.
He is preceded in death by his father, William, his mother, Margaret, and his sister, Carol Pilgrim. He is survived by his daughters Deb (Steve) Tischler, and Denise (Joe Walton) McAllister, and two grandchildren, Kelsey and Matthew McAllister. He was most proud of his two daughters and grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Ken (Bonnie) Pilgrim of Boyd, WI; nephews Mark Pilgrim, Craig Pilgrim, Steve (Carol) Pilgrim, Kent (Linda) Pilgrim, and Eric (Kari) Pilgrim; nieces Lisa (Doug) Ripplinger, and Lana (Chuck) Durch; and other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Cremation Society of Minnesota and Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Disabled American Veterans or Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
