Kathleen “Kathy" Mary Swenson

Devoted wife, mother and grandma

Kathleen Mary Swenson, 62, of Milaca, Mn. passed away the evening of December 12th, 2021 at the Fairview U of M hospital due to COVID complications. 

Kathy was born June 2nd, 1959 in Minneapolis, Mn. to Daniel and Jane Rath (Corey). Kathy was surrounded by as many family members that were allowed and by hospital staff that did everything they could to save her life. 

Kathy loved going on motorcycle rides with Larry and also loved fishing, 4-wheeling, gardening, summer evening fires, vacations and floating in her pool. Kathy especially loved their dog Layla; her cat’s Jasmine and Jewel and her love for fish tanks was a joy for her. Kathy was a hard worker and had just retired from Graco after 24 years with them. She was ready to spend more time with family and friends. 

Kathy is survived by her husband and soul mate Larry Swenson; Her children, Jennifer (Josh) Lungstrom, Tom (Christina) Westphal, Jolene Ramseth (Nate) and Kevin Swenson;  9 beautiful grandchildren that she adored, Cody, Lexi, Ethan, Layton, Niya, Zane, Tayton, Trevyn and Quinten; Her siblings, Margaret (Peggy), Jeannie, Jimmy, Beth and Janet (Tim); and many many more family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jane, father Daniel, sister Theresa, brother Stephen, brother David and sister Patricia (Patti)

Kathy was the most loving, giving and selfless person. She was always giving us beyond what was needed. She had a heart of gold and deserved everything this world had to offer. 

We all will have a hard time thanking her for everything she did for all of us but we know the best way to do so is by living on in her name, give often, praise daily and know that she stands beside us every single day! My mom’s last facebook post was “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday.” 

We all love and miss you, until we meet again. 

There will be a Celebration of Life Sunday January 2nd from 12pm to 4pm at Rockwoods 9100 Quaday Ave. NE. Otsego, MN with a service at 12 PM. 

Flower deliveries can be made Friday, December 31st or the morning of Sunday, January 2nd after 9am. Rockwoods will be closed January 1st for the Holiday.
